Baule Cushions

One of the most coveted of indigo cloths; Baule comes from Côte D’Ivoire in West Africa and blends bright colour with intricate pattern. 

The fabric is hand woven in strips and then tied tightly in order to resist the indigo dye in certain parts. The strips are then sewn together to make one cloth, making them very bespoke so every cushion will vary slightly. 

Each cushion has a blue linen backing and blue piping to enhance the cushions structure and prevent sagging. 

Please Kindly Note - Antique fabrics made by hand will always have a few irregularities and imperfections. This is just the nature of an old piece and something that I believe makes it all the more special. Please do not expect machine-churned-out perfection! This fabric is hard to come by so I will only have a limited number. 

Care Instructions - These have been pre-washed to minimise any running but just to be safe please HAND wash cold. Inner cushion is included.
